I went to this pole dancing class with my homegirl K the other day & we were in there with a bunch of housewives and their hubbys were watching and talking in the waiting room. We’re having fun laughing and what not learning how to swing around and pick ourselves up and hang upside down and what not. this one housewife (you know the ones that make snicker doodles for bake sale n shit) approached us and said “you two shouldn’t be here! Our husbands can see us right through that window and we don’t need you two coming in here and trying to wreck our marriages.” So at this point K and I are looking at each other like
And she’s clearly upset about it she’s redder than a habanero pepper at this point and she’s like do you have anything to say about yourselves? Are you happy that you can be the potential cause of several divorces? Blah blah blah. K and I are laughing hysterically at this point and I told her “maam, we aren’t here to ruin your marriage and if you think we are then you have problems in your marriage that are already present.” Before I can even turn around K bursts in with “plus your husband has had his eye on your friend with the Roshe Runs on anyways so looks like either A. He’s scheming on her or B. They’re already fucking and you didn’t even know it.
By this point the woman is just like
The woman breaks down crying and runs out the studio and the real drama unfolded right before our very eyes turns out her husband and her friend have been having an affair since 2007, her now ex bff’s husband is trying to fight the other dude saying “you’ve been fucking my wife?” Cops get called they’re trying to separate the two men who are now in a huge brawl. The other two cops (backup) are questioning everybody else and they can’t find Roshe Run girl because she disappeared in the midst of all the chaos.
Anyways long story short, the two men were arrested for disturbing the peace and I learned never to go to a pole dancing class in the Wonder Bread suburbs ever again.
lol this really has 6.3k notes
deservedly so. this was an experience.
Omg
Content I love
This is why I made my tumblr , thank you 2010, finally paid me back
just once i wanna put the blade of my sword under a pretty boy’s chin and tilt their head up so i can see both fear and arousal in their eyes is that too much to ask
Your professor will not be happy with you if he says the Stanford Prison Experiment shows human nature and you say it shows the nature of white middle class college-aged boys.
Like he will not be happy at all.
For real though. That experiment. Scary shit.
This reminds me of a discussion that I read once which said Lord of the Flies would have turned out a hell of a lot differently if it was a private school of young girls (who are expected to be responsible and selfless instead), or a public school where the children weren’t all from an inherently entitled, emotionally stunted social class (studies have shown that people in lower socioeconomic classes show more compassion for others).
Or that the same premise with children raised in a different culture than the toxic and opressive British Empire and it’s emphasis on social hierarchy and personal wealth and status.
And that what we perceive as the unchangable truth deep inside humanity because of things like Lord of the Flies and the Stanford Prison Experiment, is just the base truths about what happens when you remove any accountabilty controlling one social group with an overwhelming sense of entitlement and an inability to feel compassion.
I will always reblog this.
I just wanna say that the Lord of the Flies was explicitly written about high-class private school boys to make this exact point. Golding wrote Lord of the Flies partially to refute an earlier novel about this same subject: The Coral Island by
R.M. Ballantyne. Golding thought it was absolutely absurd that a bunch of privileged little shits would set up some sort of utopia, so his book shows them NOT doing that.
This is also generally true about most psychological experiments.
There’s an experiment called “The Ultimatum Game”. It goes something like this.
Subject A is given an amount of money (Say, $100).
Subject A must offer Subject B some percentage of that money.
If Subject B accepts Subject A’s offer, both get the agreed upon amount of money. If Subject B refuses, no one gets any money.
The most common result was believed to be that people favored 50/50 splits. Anything too low was rejected; people wanted fairness. This was believed to be universal.
And then a researcher went to Peru to do the experiment with members of the indigenous Machiguenga population, and was baffled to find that the results were totally different.
Because, to the Machiguenga, refusing any amount of free money (even an unfair amount) was considered crazy.
So the researcher took his work on the road (to 14 other ‘small scale’ societies and tribes) , and to his shock found the results varied wildly depending on where the test was done.
In fact, the “universal” result? Was an outlier.
And that’s the problem. 96% percent of test subjects for psychological research come from 12% of the population. Stuff that we consider to be universal facts of human nature… even things like optical illusions, just… aren’t.
You can read an article about it here. But the crux of it is that psychology is plagued with confirmation bias, and people are shaped more by their environment than we realize.
Meghan Murphy was just banned from Twitter and we should be worried
For those who don’t know, Meghan Murphy is a prominent radical feminist and the author of Feminist Current. Today, she was banned from Twitter for stating that men are not women. She has been temporarily suspended in the past, but this time it’s permanent. In addition, Twitter changed it’s rules to BAN misgendering and/or deadnaming. That means that something as simple as saying that transwomen are biologically male or using a female pronoun for a transman could get you banned and no platformed on Twitter. Twitter is silencing women. I will not stop speaking up. Fight to make your voice heard.
Ahahahahahahaha
Ok but like wtf is going on with Twitter where they think it’s ok to censor this but not hate speech and inflammatory comments made by Trump??? #prioritize
Today we announced some big updates to our Community Guidelines and what kind of content is permitted on Tumblr. Adult content will no longer be allowed here. While we do not judge anyone for their desire to post, engage with, or view this stuff, it is time for us to change our relationship with it.
We expect you may have some questions on how this will affect you, and we’re here to make sure those questions get answered.
When does the new policy take effect?
Our new Community Guidelines will go into effect on December 17, 2018.
Newly uploaded content flagged as adult will no longer be allowed on Tumblr. We’ll also begin flagging and removing existing adult content with the ultimate goal of removing as much of it as we can.
What is considered adult content?
Adult content primarily includes photos, videos, or GIFs that show real-life human genitals or female-presenting nipples, and any content—including photos, videos, GIFs and illustrations—that depicts sex acts.
What is still permitted?
Examples of exceptions that are still permitted are exposed female-presenting nipples in connection with breastfeeding, birth or after-birth moments, and health-related situations, such as post-mastectomy or gender confirmation surgery. Written content such as erotica, nudity related to political or newsworthy speech, and nudity found in art, such as sculptures and illustrations, are also stuff that can be freely posted on Tumblr.
This level of censorship is shameful. Instead of regulating the violence, hate speech and racism portrayed on this cite they’re regulating sex and the human body. I predict tumblr losing a lot of popularity over this decision. What will they censor next? Swear words? Political statements? Criticisms of their company? #fuckingfascists
